The term Professional Graphics denotes graphics displayed in a scientific, business or other non-leisure form of application, in other words, functional graphics. Professional Graphics differ from leisure-related graphics as they often require a significantly higher level of precision.

Real-time professional graphics are usually implemented by the utilization of the OpenGL API while non-real-time solutions often implement custom visualization software. CAD and CAM software is also encapsulated in this category.
