This page contains the general guidelines for writing articles on the Scriptionary website.

General
Before you can create or edit an article, you will have to create a Scriptionary account and confirm your email address with the link provided to you in the email. If you haven't received an email, click here to have the email re-sent but beware that all previous emails will be invalidated.
Editing
You may freely edit a page if you find any errors in its content or wish to make an addition. Simply go the the page you wish to modify and click on the Edit tab at the top of the page. Please note that you are required to have a confirmed email address on file. See the General section for details
Creating a new page
You may freely create a new page without restrictions if you feel the need to add a page to the website. When you create a new page, make sure to include the Author's Template to your page to mark that you and not someone else created the page.
To change the licensing attribution, please add details to the Notes section of the Author's Template listing these changes.
MediaWiki Syntax
The Scriptionary website is a Wiki, which means that any text entered has to be formatted with the Wiki syntax. If you're not familiar with the syntax, see this Cheat Sheet at Wikipedia for details.
